Principal Security Architect Shawn Harris Joins CSCG Advisory Board
“As attackers become more and more sophisticated there is an opportunity for organizations to help security practitioners become more resilient through shared information,” stated Harris. “The CSCG is uniquely positioned to do just that. The CSCG is influencing the cybersecurity industry in a collaborative manner, positively impacting all technical security areas. I’m honored to be a part of this forward-thinking organization.”
Harris joined Starbucks in 2017, where he leads the security architecture practice. Previously Harris spent over 20 years in public and private sector roles where he focused on all aspects of cybersecurity architecture. During this time he developed processes to help organizations better align enterprise-wide technology solutions and services to business and customer goals with agility
“Many issues that CSCG members discuss are relevant for all cybersecurity practitioners, such as key management best practices for public cloud or blockchain, code signing and post quantum computing readiness,” said Tom Stockmeyer, Founder and President of the CSCG. “Cyber practitioners dramatically benefit from speaking with other cyber practitioners to better understand the best practices to mitigate cyber risks. Shawn brings a wealth of experience from his position of Principal Security Architect for Starbucks to serving on the Program Committee for the RSA Conference to working with the Cloud Security Alliance as Co-Chair of the Cloud Controls Working Group. His deep knowledge of cybersecurity will help the CSCG continue to expand its mission to foster dialog between cyber experts. I am happy to welcome Shawn to the CSCG Advisory Board and I look forward to his input for improving our CSCG’s mission.”
